Original 1971 pressing of Nantucket Sleighride on Windfall Records, featuring the psychedelic cover artwork by Gail Collins and a Macy’s “Club Circle A” sticker still attached—a charming retail time capsule. This copy is part of an early pressing run, with extremely low serial numbers typical of vintage first issues from this collection.
Musically rich and sonically bold, the album blends hard rock, blues, and progressive flourishes into one of Mountain’s most iconic releases. The title track, a sweeping 5-part suite inspired by 19th-century whaling, became a cult classic—its theme later used as the closing music for the UK’s “Weekend World.” Guitarist Leslie West and bassist/vocalist Felix Pappalardi (who also produced Cream) shine throughout, with standout tracks like “Don’t Look Around,” “My Lady,” and “The Animal Trainer and the Toad.”
