Hosted by Peter Marshall and recorded live at the legendary Hollywood Palladium, the collection features Glenn Miller alumnus Tex Beneke and his Orchestra, The Modernaires, Helen O'Connell, Bob Eberly, Paula Kelly Jr. and other performers associated with the golden age of swing.

The two-record set revisits classics including “Moonlight Serenade,” “In the Mood,” “Tuxedo Junction,” “Little Brown Jug,” “String of Pearls,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “American Patrol,” “Who Cares,” “Marie Elena,” “Amapola,” “Green Eyes” and more.

Released in 1981, these were all-new recordings rather than simply a repackaging of vintage masters. The handsome gatefold package includes extensive liner notes and archival photographs of Glenn Miller, Jimmy Dorsey and the featured performers. This copy also includes the pictured 1981 “A Tribute to Glenn Miller” program featuring Tex Beneke & The Modernaires, an excellent period accompaniment to the album.
