This compilation pulls together classic performances originally released between 1963–1965, including “Twist and Shout,” “I Saw Her Standing There,” “Rock and Roll Music,” “Slow Down,” and more.

Originally part of a 1976 double-LP, Capitol reissued the set as two separate albums in the early ’80s. This is the Volume 1 pressing, catalog SN-16020.
